Untersberg is a massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps, stretched to Salzburg, Austria. The mountain straddles the border between Berchtesgaden, Germany and Salzburg, Austria.
After we had checked in at Bloberger Hof, we drove to the cable car station of Mount Untersberg in the Salzburg side.
The cable car station is also accessible by bus number 25 from the Train Central Station or right after your visit at Hellbrunn and/ or zoo.
The cable car operates daily from 9am to 4pm, every 30 minutes.
Ticket prices are not cheap: summer €14, winter €11 for one way; ups and downs €22
for updated prices of the ticket, you could check this site

Salzburg card covers the ticket, so we did not pay.

The German side of the Untersberg was the mountain used in the closing scenes of the 1965 movie, the Sound of Music. Let me show you a clip of the closing scene.
We went straight to Berchstegaden after we had descended from the mountain
